Survey says: "You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop.""
I stopped calling it "pop" when I moved to California from Cleveland; right around the time I started saying "dude."
Dude... I really need to cut that out, too.
My survey was almost identical to yours. I agree with Drew when he points out how your colloquisms will give away your region better than anything. At least I think that's what Drew was getting at. I think I'll go have a soda dude.
